KPKP Agency Increases Chili Supply from Wajo

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency continues to increase the supply of chili to maintain price stability. One of them is obtained from Wajo District, South Sulawesi.

This is very important to stabilize chili price

It gets direct support from the Ministry of Agriculture's Food Security Agency, which bears the costs of air cargo transportation.

"The transportation cost is Rp 26,000 per kg. So we can sell chili at cheap prices in Jakarta, as it doesn't need expenses for transportation costs," disclosed Jakarta PKP Agency Head, Darjamuni, Monday (2/3).

As of February 2, he stated, chili has been imported from Wajo by 15 tons.

"This is very important to stabilize chili price. We'll also bring more chili from Hulu Sungai Selatan District, South Kalimantan," he explained.

Along with the ministry, the agency also conducts market operations for chili commodities in Jakarta.

"Dated on January 3, we have done it in Senen Market, Central Jakarta with an additional supply of 200 kg. We will ensure that there are enough chili stocks to meet the needs of the community," he stated.
